about

In the third and final installment of The New Mastersounds’ “A Brighter Day,” the group collaborated with their coveted recent addition on vocals, Lamar Williams Jr. Williams plays his full hand of musical cards over Eddie Roberts’ arrangement as he lays down soothing pads of vocal harmonies that accentuate his soulful vocal leads and trace back to his musical upbringings in church and lineage as the son of Lamar Williams who played bass with The Allman Brothers from 1972-1976. Williams’ lyrics encourage growth, finding beauty during tumultuous times, and ultimately seeing the light at the end of the tunnel offering a glimmer of hope to a brighter day.

lyrics

With my eyes open wide so freely
I see all kinds of beautiful
But we go through hard times so impactful that it pushes us to grow, well

If we could see it on a brighter day
Well we could dream it on a brighter day
I wanna see you on a brighter day

Cause when I lost my job
Oh you made it home
Oh you said we’d make it
I’m not all alone

If we could see it on a brighter day
Well we could dream in on a brighter day
I wanna see you on a brighter day
If we could see it on a brighter day
Well we could dream it on a brighter day
I wanna see you on a brighter day

You said we’d make it
Oh Ya made it
You said we’d make it
I’m not all alone

If we could see it on a brighter day
Well we could dream it on a brighter day
I wanna see you on a brighter day
Where could you be on a brighter day
To teach all the kids about a brighter day
I wanna be with your brighter day

Brighter day
Brighter day
Brighter day

But we could be it on a brighter day
If we could see it on a brighter day
Well we could dream on a brighter day
I wanna see you on a brighter day
See you on a brighter day
What could you be on a brighter day
To teach all the kids about a brighter day
I wanna see you on a brighter day

Brighter day

And we can do it on a brighter day
You and me on a brighter day
And we can do it on a brighter day
You and me on a brighter day
And we can do it on a brighter day
You and me on a brighter day
